Sonic Poster

Sonic Youth news:

"For the first time in eighteen years, Sonic Youth are a full-fledged indie-rock band again," starts a recent article in Rolling Stone. Yes, friends, lovers, delegates, transvestites, people who watch Jon and Kate Plus 8: since the release of Rather Ripped in 2006 fulfilled the group’s contract with Geffen — the major label they’ve been signed to since 1990’s Goo — Sonic Youth are now apparently heading back to the world of indie.

Some things you do for money and some you do for, love love love

Today I won a wonderful award at my college. Today I won best of show in the annual student art show. I received a cash prize and my drawing will be in the Children's Museum right here in Pittsburgh, PA! The exhibition my drawing will be in is called "Toonseum". I am unsure of the complete details now but will soon find out where my little drawing is headed.

I will update more on my unbelievable excitement soon. But before I end this I would like to thank every single person who has ever believed in me and who has not believed in me. I did this all for you, I won this prize for everyone who does things they want, in the artist world and all the other worlds there are out there. Thank you so much, from the very bottom on my heart to the tips of my toes, I love you all.

The types they are a-changin

Got into a car accident yesterday with one of my roomates, Stacey. My neck is wrecked along with cuts on Stacey's face. The upside, the police man, along with the other unusual men we met while on the side of the highway.

A mock tour poster

I made this logo for my friends in Baby Bear a few months ago. I added fake tour dates so I will be able to us it as a poster in my portfolio.

I never finished.

Wonderful! Awesum!

Allen Ginsberg Skateboard designed by Mike Mills. If only I was a sk8r chickie, then I could ride Ginsberg all over town.  Today a young man sitting next to me in a computer lab asked me if I put up the "Allen Ginsberg Is Your Friend" drawing. Then he asked me for his very own shitty black and white copy. I gave it to him, I wonder what journey my drawing is on..

My mock Allen Ginsberg website: http://smn152.aisites.com (up for a short time)

Today I learned how make .gif images.

So I made this beauty. I see my future full of .gif images. But, I  wish I was learning useful painting tips or how to sew.

created for a mock velvet underground cd.

Saturday, December 22, 2007

the rough draft was a small sketch in my journal. then i scanned it into photoshop and made a mirror image. after printing out a copy i added a tail and turned them into slugs.

this then turned into my final illustration project for the one and only mark bender. transfered the image onto canvas and painted it! i received a B+! cha-ching!

i very much wanted to add glitter glue to the stream of color pouring out of their mouths, but was told by many art pals that it was a bad choice. (i still have an urge..)
