Sonic Poster

Sonic Youth news:

"For the first time in eighteen years, Sonic Youth are a full-fledged indie-rock band again," starts a recent article in Rolling Stone. Yes, friends, lovers, delegates, transvestites, people who watch Jon and Kate Plus 8: since the release of Rather Ripped in 2006 fulfilled the group’s contract with Geffen — the major label they’ve been signed to since 1990’s Goo — Sonic Youth are now apparently heading back to the world of indie.

New Flags

These flags are planning to be placed around the Lawrenceville/Bloomfield area. A good friend of mine suggested we head out that way with my "Please Enjoy" campaign. If you live in that area, be on the look out! and.. please enjoy.

I must have forgotten to update about this, I have placed only two please enjoy flags up. The first one was placed in the South Side, the next day I went back to the same location and found my first flag was gone. I placed another flag in the same location and have yet to check on its status.

When my dad visited I asked him to place a "Have Free Fun" rock somewhere, he did in the PPG courtyard. It make me feel wonderful after that my mom, dad and I drank weird frozen coffee drinks.

Project: Please Enjoy

I came up with this new solo street art project last night. I 've been sewing and last night I made these little flags. My thought is to start today, and place these first two in a tree somewhere around downtown Pittsburgh. I also think my stone project will join under the wings of "Please Enjoy". You can find these treats on the streets of the greater Pittsburgh area. I hope you enjoy!

Barry McGee is the man

I went to the Carnegie Art Museum on Thursday night for a talk by Barry McGee on the art and history of graffiti. After the talk Japanther and two other indie dance bands played. The best part, it was 100% FREE FUN!

I placed a rock outside the museum I instantly wished I had brought a rock in with me while the show was going on in the courtyard. I could be in the museum without all the hassle of trying to get a show. Better luck next time.

Projects I've been working on

A few things I've been working on:
#1 The window by my desk holds a few new drawings and paintings
#2 I bought a bag of air-dry "clay", here is a dot-rock
#3 I then made my name which I am in the process of dotting right now
#4 Jes and I went trash-picking a few weeks back. I found this treasure and added lyrics from "Teenage Lobotomy" by the Ramones

I am leaving in the morning to go to Jes's grandparents lake house in New York. Excited to get sand in my shorts. See you in a few days.

Project: Getting Pittsburgh Stoned

I have been collecting rocks/stones/pebbles around Pittsburgh lately, bringing them home and painting them with sayings, words, and designs. The idea popped into my head today to either return the rocks where I got them from or place them in other areas around the city. On the back of the rocks I have been writing "Please take me. Love Sneary" but is subject to change on how I'm feeling the day I paint them. I will begin placing them today and taking photos of where their new homes are, until hopefully someone takes them home for their gardens.
